The internet is bombarded with advertisements on how to loose weight or providing personal training or some magical pill that rips through fat. Finding tips for loosing weight is not a difficult task, we live in a time where people obsess about to being slim and terrific. Why are we looking for tips to loose weight? A Freudian would say it is to fullfil one of our two basic human desires being ‘sexual desire’.

One might be uncomfortable with this idea that we worry about our appearance in order to get sex. There is no doubt that tips for losing weight is directed at a self image conscious audience. This Consciousness is seen as a bad thing in modern society, when in fact the ancient Greeks thought of this as a virtue synonymous with wisdom and the Roman republicans thought it just to be good manners. It is important not to fall into this trap bottomless of pitt of skewed self image which leads to diseases like anorexia.
